Hello, my name is Patrick Schoeneborn but call me “Coach Patrick”. I am a Personal Fitness Professional, Nutritional Health Coach and Motivational Speaker with an eye to help jump-start my clients’ health and change the ways to getting, and staying, healthy.
After being diagnosed with prostate cancer I didn’t think much about the future. I was just trying to survive the punch in the gut. Literally…but with the help of a great surgeon I overcame this terrible disease! Completely cured and with the future back in my hands I started to change my life. Eating healthier and exercising smarter not harder became part of my life and before I knew the pounds came off and I got stronger. I became healthier, fitter and more active. Feeling better and more resilient than I ever did I decided I wanted to share this experience with others. So I became a Personal Trainer, Health Coach and Motivational Speaker.
With a lifetime career experience of promoting and delivering services I have the goods to make you feel special. I ensure that all my clients receive personal attention, motivation and professional exercise instruction.
My certifications from NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) as Personal Trainer, Nutritional Coach and Weight Loss Specialist, and SrFit, a specialty certification for Mature Fitness from the American Academy of Health and Fitness, allow me to work with a cross section of clients with different needs and goals for their health and fitness.
For the love of Fitness: I develop exercise programs for individuals and groups based on the ability and goals of my clients.
For the importance of Instruction: I demonstrate and execute safe and proper exercises and use of equipment with a focus on customer service, needs and ability.
For the love of Health: I am committed in my clients’ health and fitness goals. As a Health Coach I help my clients change their behaviors that have held them back from making long-term change. My passion is to help you live your healthiest live possible, one day at a time.
For the need of good communication: I establish and maintain a positive and effective working relationship with my clients. I’m reliable in keeping appointments and have excellent communication skills.
For the past 10 years I train and coach both one-on-one and in-class and absolutely love what I do. Training and coaching so you can live your life to the fullest.
My hobbies are skiing and hiking. I feel most comfortable in the outdoors but have yet to figure out how to make a living skiing through trees and tromping through mountains :))

But when diving a little deeper, I came to realize there is so much more to affecting change in people.
To assess my behavior change and client retention skills I tried to answer the 3 questions below:
1. What's involved in setting goals for my clients and make them stick?
2. When should I recommend a an exercise program to a potential client or number of steps per day to take?
3. What kind of technique would I use to change my clients' behavior?
As a Behavior Change Specialist I gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities involved in motivating my clients to help change health and fitness related behaviors.
This specialization taught me the ability to systematically assess and implement behavior change tactics in a progressive approach and to have the necessary tools to help my clients make a change to a healthier and more active lifestyle they all deserve.

With SrFit I play a vital role in keeping baby boomers and beyond active to meet their needs to stay fit and healthy.
SrFit helped me gain an understanding of how the aging process affects all the systems of the body, identify dietary changes that may be needed, and develop effective training strategies to improve flexibility, endurance, strength and optimal function in my older-adult clients. I learned how to individualize a training regimen that fits the physiological capabilities of mature adults, individually or in a class setting.

FLEX is Healthways new instructor-led activities initiative, designed to attract older adults in my community who typically don’t visit a participating location or need more flexibility, ease of access and a different customer experience. FLEX will engage more members in daily physical activity by leveraging SilverSneakers® Fitness Program offerings at various community venues.
